Patient Experiences

Marie and Gerald Bryan's testimonial

My husband Gerald and I have been married for 12 years. In time Gerald has had one major and two minor heart attacks and quadruple bypass heart surgeries. He has also had three prostate surgeries, two skin cancer surgeries and a very serious about with sepsis. Gerald has had diabetes for almost 30 years, 20 of which he has used insulin. After his close call with sepsis we felt that his overall health was in a steady decline. He was taking at least 20 different prescription drugs, many of which were steadily being increased in dosage. We both felt that with all the intervention we were losing ground. Gerald was experiencing declining kidney function and was being prepped for what they felt was inevitable dialysis. In an effort to curb the loss of kidney function, we started weaning him off of many of his meds. I must admit we were both fearful but felt that we had nothing to lose. We started looking at alternative options to counter Geralds varied medical issues. As a person seeking answers, we were bombarded with a lot of Quick Fix recommendations. We spent a lot of time and money looking for answers.

In the autumn of 2007, our chiropractor told us of a new doctor in town. He said he was a Naturopath and he was personally recommending that we paid him a visit and explore our options. We were skeptical knowing that our insurance will not cover the treatment, should we decide to go that route. We finally rationalized that we had tried everything else and we might as well give it a fair try. Dr. Holcomb spent a lot of time reviewing Geralds history and what we had been doing (which was in total conflict with what the doctors were recommending). He explained how given the right environment the body is capable of healing itself. One problem--it takes time and patience. We prayerfully decided to trust our core Holcomb's recommendations and start with an aggressive round of nutritional IV's, hydrotherapy, colonics and herbal supplements. Dr. Holcomb has helped us evaluate how we can incorporate healthier lifestyle choices and whenever we come to him with a question or concern, if he doesn't know, he tells us and does what he can to research the topic and give us an informed opinion.

Gerald no longer takes occasional insulin injections and has regained normal kidney function stats and we're optimistic that his A1C will show a steady improvement. Gerald’s endurance continues to improve. At Christmas time he wasn't strong enough to dress without assistance and could barely make it from his bed or chair into the bathroom. Now he can walk to the post office a couple of blocks away and he started doing outside activities like chicken and rabbit chores. We continually work on trying to make better lifestyle choices and are even mindful that we ourselves have the capacity for perfect health if we just give it a chance. The out-of-pocket expense is easier to justify when I consider I have an extra pair of hands to help me and a pair of arms to hold me.

Patient Experiences

Dr. Holcomb,

I am writing this to thank you for inviting me to participate in a study for the use of ozone for my COPD symptoms.

I have had breathing and lung problems for six or seven years and was diagnosed with COPD, type 2 diabetes and congestive heart failure. I have been on Oxygen 24/7 for about five years. I was also in an auto accident in 1999 that caused my arm to continue to have RSD pain.

After having my first ozone treatment I felt bubbles in my lungs. I began feeling like I needed to cough up something that was in my lungs. I did cough up a lot of green pus like material. In about an hour I started to feel more energy and I had less brain fog. I continued to feel better and have more energy with each treatment. After a few treatments I seemed to stay the same and stabilized. So we discontinued it for a while.

I still feel considerably better, much less brain fog and more energy. My wheezing is less and my coughing attacks are less frequent. I still have shortness of breath when I walk or carry things. My RSD is off and on. I don't know what triggers it. Often it is from overuse of my arm or a compression of clothes on it. The ozone did not seem to change a lot of the pain associated with it.

I was grateful for any treatment that would help my shortness of breath. I still don't have a lot of stamina, but I have other issues like obesity and diabetes that cause my symptoms to reappear. I need to address these also. Thank you for your desire to help me have more quality of life. Sincerely,

Mrs. Linda Curnutt.

When I was 34 years old my husband and I found out that we were expecting twins. We were both nervous and eventually became excited. The pregnancy went pretty smooth until I was 32 weeks along. I went to the doctor and found out that I had dilated to 4 cm. I was rushed to the high risk unit in St. George where I stayed for 2 weeks while dilated at 7 cm. The twins came at week 34. They were good size but I had to have one vaginally and one c-section. The babies had to stay in the NICU for one and a half weeks and then came home on oxygen and heart monitors. My c-section was very difficult to recover from because I couldn't give my body the proper rest it needed to recover. It was up every 3 hours for an hour changing diapers and feeding. I began to feel very overwhelmed, anxious and depressed. I wasn't getting the sleep I needed or eating a proper diet. I was on Prozac and did not feel like it was working. I kept having the “run away” feeling.  So I went back to my doctor and he upped my dose of Prozac and then again later wanted to add Wellbutrin. I started these medications and still just wasn't feeling myself. My neighbor, Dr. Holcomb's wife, came over and suggested that maybe I was low on vitamins and to come get vitamins through an IV. So I did 3 rounds of vitamins and did feel some more energy so I called Dr. Holcomb to let him know. He then brought over some herbal drops to put in my water and drink during my roughest times during the day which were usually at 11am and 5pm The herbal drops consisted of Avena, Hypericum, Skullcap, and Melissa. I noticed a difference of peace after just one day. I called to let him know this is working was very happy to finally feel normal again I was able to physically, mentally and emotionally take care of my family again. Thanks Dr. Holcomb!

My daughter Chelsea is 15 years old and has Down syndrome. At the onset of puberty, she developed an anxiety disorder. Previous to that time she was very friendly and outgoing. As her anxiety disorder progressed, she became more and more withdrawn. She no longer participated in activities that she had enjoyed. She could not tolerate being around former friends and even had a hard time being around extended family members. Going anywhere in public was really difficult. When she had several violent outbursts at school I took her to a pediatric psychiatrist who prescribed an anti-depressant. It wasn’t until she was taking 100 mg daily that she was able to function She was on that dose for about a year. There were some undesirable side-effects and a whole list of potential ones.

About 6 months ago she saw Dr. Holcomb. He started her on a program to get her off her anti-depressant. She had I.V. therapy and nutritional therapy. Each time she had an I.V. , he decreased her dose of medicine by 25 mg. She was able to maintain function with each lower dose until finally she is completely free of medication. She is doing at least as well as she was on 100 mg. of an anti-depressant. We are very happy with the outcome of her treatment.

I have been suffering from inflammatory arthritis for over 35 years. For many years, I was given immunosuppressant’s which were toxic and only suppressed my immune system, leaving me vulnerable to many other diseases. I shared with Dr. Holcomb a protocol for using antibiotics to destroy the mycoplasma "infection" which is causing my disease. He researched this, and set up a protocol for me. He prescribed daily oral antibiotics and weekly antibiotic infusions. I have found it to be extremely effective for keeping my sedimentation rate low (the amount of inflammation in my body). Dr. Holcomb is a great doctor, and I count myself very "blessed" for his help.

I was sick and not feeling well for five years.  Other doctors kept telling me there was nothing wrong with me.  I knew how I felt and I wasn't satisfied to believe there was nothing wrong with me.  My father told me about Dr. Holcomb and advised me to go meet with him.  After a few labs, Dr. Holcomb was able to pinpoint where my problems were coming from.  Within a few weeks, I began to feel better than I had in years. It has now been a year and a half and my strength and stamina are back to where they should be.  Thanks Dr. Holcomb.

Dear Dr. Holcomb,

I can never thank you enough for all you have done for me.  I would not have been able to celebrate another year of my life without you.  I am a survivor of Lymes disease because of you. You have the perfect combination of professionalism, kindness, and humor - always so comforting for a patient who could not see the light.

Thank you for educating me into the world of homeopathy, for always being available to administer the IV therapies I needed, for your sense of humor through it all, and most of all, for the helpful referrals.

We wish you had moved closer to our home instead of further.  We will definitely contact you again if we ever end up in your area.

Wishing the very best to you and your family.

Thank you again for giving me a healthier life.

Sincerely,
